I have no idea how you are able to weave so many brilliant things into one essay and how you achieve this each week. It’s amazing. The line that sticks: in order to not disappear I need to be alone. Same.

Thank you, thank you, Sadia. I like that we share a need for solitude and story.

“So much of loneliness is fantasizing your own disappearance.”

And “in order to not disappear, I need to be alone.”

Doesn’t this strike at the essence of “it”. Of communing with our own souls, with the Divine, the source inside of us.

For me, without this sacred time, I move though life as just the outer shell of myself.

Alissa, thank you for contributing this beautiful piece to your readers.

The perfect word, James. It really is sacred, isn't it?

Always love reading your essays, Alissa! "Without any moments of solitude, I start to feel lonely in company" resonated with me deeply.
